01. Buk Out 02. Motion Study DJ Signify is a name that has been around for quite a while now, but may not have been on many peoples radar as of late. For a notable reminder to some, think back five years to Anticon's Music for the Advancement of Hip Hop. While he's still remained productive over the years, it's fair to say he hasn't garnered the same attention as some of his peers. But things are definitely looking up for mister Signify; his debut album is set to drop in late March on Lex Records and he's got this here wonderful single from the new kings of the 7", Bully Records. With its hard hitting drums and intermittent strings the A-side "Buk Out" has a lovely morbid feeling to it. The bleak tone is helped along by a series of perfectly chosen vocal samples; which sound like they could have been taken from a jealous lovers quarrel in one of those bad Russ Meyer films. While keeping to a similar eerie mood, Signify picks up the tempo for the flip side "Motion Study." It's grimy drums and haunting melodies can make your ears very happy. Unclean Vol.1 is the first in a two part series, and with Bully's so far flawless track record still in tact, you can bet we're in for another gem just like this one. - noyz319
