01. Fob Lights
02. Clausland Mountain RD

The thing I like about small labels that put out small, somewhat obscure releases is that each release has an intimate feeling in its limited print run and personal touch. Bully Records is one such label, having dropped Controller7's Expansions and Moodswing9's Reflections of Progress...and now Turntablist P-Love's "Fob Lights" 7". From the crazy and fun cover art to the moment your needle hits this record, P-Love establishes his quirky stylings which slightly resemble Caural or Dosh in a geeky but cool way that's not overdone but well composed and enjoyable. "Fob Lights" strides in with a blanket of synth hums and litterings of doodad sounds.eventually sliding into a nice laid back composition that tumbles around with well done scratches. The b side "clausland mtn rd" sinks into a nice groove with a charmingly simple Rhodes melody and solid drum programming. I especially like both instrumental songs on this release because the drums don't drop in until they're thoughtfully invoked to change up the pace later in the song. This record might be considered IDM, but lacks the utter carelessness or irritation, plus it's mixed by Sixtoo at the Mexican Vampire Studios so you know it bumps.
